User's notes
These medium-sized browny-black ants raced to rescue their pupal charges, when a plant pot was lifted, disturbing their long-held tenure (photo 5). Among them were some particularly large ants, marked in photo 4, and visible in photo 1 at the very bottm LHS. In contrast with the majority, (presumably female workers), the larger ants’ heads were bigger than their abdomens. The pupae too, are varied in size (photo 3 from the bottom LHS). In photos 1, 2 & 3 it looks like the majority have a pale lateral band or 2, on their abdomens.
