I suspect this is a proper Bug, and have found it a couple of times on specimens of this ‘Slender Grape’ vine (Causonis clematidea). Camera shy, it insisted on keeping its belly uppermost (photos 3, 4 & 5), making it a challenge to get a top shot. Vivid vermilion margins around the aforementioned belly, with a similar colour on the upper legs.(photo 5) Whilst I couldn’t capture it well, the body had a rich green, almost metallic sheen to it (photos 1 & 2). All in all quite a strikingly colourful creature, with coal-black eyes (photo 3 amongst others).
So delighted to hear that @DiBickers, Just have to share the laughs when being so entertained by what's out there ~ hopefully it lightens the more exacting & ever important clinical observations I’m trying to hone.
