Oxychilus alliarius (J. S. Miller, 1822) Family Oxychilidae. Invasive species from Europe which has spread through temperate southern Australia. A major pest species as it eats small native snails.

These seemed a bit bigger than specimens i have seen in Canberra, probably 8-10mm at an estimate.

Hi Trevor, the whorl coiling pattern more resembles Oxychilus alliarus (to 7mm) rather than the larger O. cellarius (to 11mm) however it could even be an immature O. draparnaudi (to 16mm) which has a similar coiling pattern to the photographed snail and has been recorded from Canberra.
