Does look like an Evening Brown _Melanitis leda_ to me too.

Yes : eyespots correspond to M. leda. I am not a butterfly moderator so sadly I cannot verify Ian's suggestion, and undo CarbonAI's.

Thanks everyone. I’m really interested to get an ID on this as I believe it’s the most southern sighting (on this platform anyway).

Nice find, they're a lovely butterfly. There are records down to Wollongong for this species.
