Leistarcha amphigramma

I don't think it matches L. amphigramma or L. scitissimella, but I do think it matches L. tenuistria.

Look at the thorax pattern I think it matches L. tenuistria

The thoraxes all look similar to me, and variable, with 1 or 2 or 3 white lines. I think you have to dissect the genitalia to distinguish the species.

As already discussed and going by BOLD (hobern) and Ian McMillan's Blog there seem to be 3 options - L. amphigramma, L. scitissimella & L. tenuistria

On the basis of forewing pattern I would rule out Leistarcha tenuistria. It has the darkest (least white lines) wing of the 3. It has 3 then 4 parallel lines running the full length of the wings (base - termen) in the centre (centre line). Either side of this are dark brown bands . There is a line running 1/3 length of the wings which bifurcates about half way before terminating at the apex.

L. amphigramma & L. scitissimella both have much more white lines on the wings. The lines running in the centre of the wings from the base, split into 4 pairs of lines for the last 1/3 to the termen.

I think the above moth best fits L. amphigramma.

The first 2/3, from the base, of the above mentioned line has 3 fairly distinct parallel lines (more fuzzy in L. scitissimella) The brown line on the costa side has a dark oblong with paler brown beside and continuing to the apex. The brown line on the inner margin side of the centre line has a white line running into it from the tornus.

Without a 100% confidence, Ian McMillan favours L. amphigramma.
