The wasp was flying around a stick (so I thought) until I saw this caterpillar arch and move. Having now seen my photos, I believe the wasp was laying eggs into the unfortunate larva, which had been behind the stick where the wasp was buzzing. I was surprised how quickly the wasp laid, then moved
