There has been a lot of discussion by Taichi Kato about the diet of Icthyophaga. They feed mainly on fish but as these photos show it is not exclusively so. Pandion (Ospreys), on the other hand, do seem to .feed almost exclusively on fish. White Bellied Sea Eagles have short tail feathers and so would lack the agility to catch a fast moving bird or mammal, however, a Little Penguin on land would be an easy target.

The blood on the penguin would suggest that it was alive when caught.
