Nankeen Kestrel chick (Falco cenchroides). One of BHP Technicians found this beautiful little chick near a running belt of a conveyor in Jimblebar Iron Ore Mine. We had to stop the conveyor for the Environment Officer to safely catch and relocate it. We were all so glad and relieved that we managed to save it from great harm and possible death if it was to get any closer to a fast running conveyor!
