Stericta carbonalis (Charcoal Pyralid)

Stericta carbonalis and Catamola funerea are black Epipaschiinae that have been recorded in the ACT.  The former has a tiny white spot towards the centre of the forewing that may require magnification to see, and the latter has a few light scales scattered across the forewing.  Males of Sterict carbonalis have a bulge near the centre of the costa, those of Catamola funeria do not.
