Tenerus abbreviatus (Short-winged clerid beetle)

Family Cleridae. These are predators of wood-boring beetles. With their blue and red colours and shortened elytra, these beetles resemble certain Soft-winged flower beetles (Melyridae) of the genera Balanophorus and Carphurus. However, Tenerus are more cylindrical and have relatively longer elytra and a different head.
