Hednota panteucha (Crambinae)

The adult moths of this species have pale brown forewings each with six white-edged dark thin triangles. The hindwings are off-white shading to pale brown at the margins. The moths are inclined to hold their long labial palps straight out in front of the head, looking like a birds beak, and sit with tail down, and head up.. The moths have a wingspan of about 2.5 cms.
