Family Mesoveliidae

These small semi-aquatic bugs occur on the surface and edges of still and slow-flowing waters. They are able to walk or run on the surface film due to tufts of hydrophobic hair on their tarsi (feet). Their food is small invertebrates that fall on the water surface.
