Distribution and Ecology

Occurs naturally in Cape York Peninsula and the northern extremity of the wet tropics bio-region,
becoming naturalised further south in the wet tropics bio-region (NE. Qld). 
Altitudinal range from near sea level to 300 m.
Grows in monsoon forest and gallery rain forest.
Also occurs in Malesia (New Guinea).
