Daphnandra apatela Schodde (2007) – common socketwood or canary socketwood .

Common rain forest trees in eastern Australia. 
These grow in the more fertile alluvial soils and basaltic soils.

Habitat and Distribution:

In subtropical rain forest, warm temperate rain forest, cool temperate rain forest and dry rain forest and on rain forest margins and in regrowth from 200 to 800 m altitude;
in coastal areas and adjacent ranges north from the Watagan Mtns (W of Wyong), N.S.W., to Bulburin (S of Miriam Vale), Qld, also recorded at Cathu (NW of Mackay), N Qld.
