Carinascincus coventryi (Coventry’s Skink)

Common name: Coventry’s Skink. SVL: 50 mm

Coventry’s Skink is one of eight skinks known as snow or cool skinks  which belong to the Eugongylus Group group of skinks.

Coventry’s Skink is a slender species. It has been described as having ‘a uniform dark brown upper surface with paler stripes commencing in front of the shoulder’. It has many fine flecks (black, sometimes white) covering its body.

Distribution: Definitely a high country specialist, that seems to be found at most high altitudes in the Canberra region.
