Lactura erythocera ((Zygaenoidea, Lacturidae))

Brightly coloured moths from mostly tropical and sub-tropical areas. The bright coloured larvae look like slugs or blobs of jelly as they have no legs. They feed by scaping the surface of leaves. The Lacturidae moths have previously been placed in the Plutellidae, Yponomeutidae, and Hyponomeutidae. They are found in coastal forests of southern Queensland and northern New South Wales.
