Distribution and Ecology

Endemic in the wet tropics bio-region NE. Qld, restricted to the area between Mossman, Mt Molloy and Kuranda [further north in the Daintree River floodplain and foothills area recorded as well]. 
Altitudinal range from 50-1000 m.
Grows as an under-storey tree in well developed rain forest on a variety of sites.
This species has one of the shortest flowering-fruiting cycles yet found in northern Australian rain forest, viz. two weeks.
