Distribution and Ecology

Occurs in WA, NT, Cape York Peninsula, the wet tropics bio-region NE. Qld and central eastern Qld. 
Altitudinal range from sea level to 450 m.
Grows in monsoon forest, beach forest, drier, more seasonal rain forest and well developed lowland rain forest.
Timber reputed to be toxic to termites.
Also occurs in Africa, the Andaman Islands, Asia and Malesia.
