Chalcopteroides columbinus (Rainbow darkling beetle)


One of three large species of Chalcopteroides in the Canberra region. Distinguished by (nearly always) having a green or violet tinge on the pronotum. The overall shape is elongate-ovate; the elytra are brilliant green/violet, with the larger punctures arranged in longitudinal rows (striae, singular stria).
