Cyathea cooperi (Straw Treefern)

Protected NSW.

This species is planted in gardens and can become naturalised in nearby moist areas of forest. Its natural southern limit is uncertain, but a 1942 record on AVH from the Jervis Bay area suggests it may be naturally occurring at least that far south.  Records from further south are likely to be garden escapees.  PlantNet indicates Durras Mountain is the southern limit, but also has the central coast and south coast botanical divisions with an asterisk, indicating the plant is introduced in those areas, so the natural distribution is unclear for this species. Native to coastal NSW and QLD
