Hibbertia riparia (Erect Guinea-flower)

Hibbertia riparia, like a number of other eastern Australian species in subgenus Hemistemma (those with stamens on one side of the carpels and ericoid leaves) is in a state of flux. The boundaries of the true H. riparia are uncertain, and there are likely to be several species that currently go under that name. The type form of H. riparia is most likely restricted to Tasmania. Hellmut Toelken has still yet to publish his planned revision for the group, which will revise the species to occur in Tasmania, Victoria and SA. The entity from SA and western Victoria is most certainly a different species ...  Many things have been referred to as H. riparia from NSW, but these are likely to be considered different species in any forthcoming treatments to Hibbertia.  Although no longer correct H. riparia is retained here until the taxonomy is sorted out.
