Onthophagus pronus (Dung beetle)

The larger ('major') males of this species carry a slender horn on the pronotum, projecting forward and downward over the head. Females and minor males lack the horn. A related species, O. leanus, extends from coastal Queensland to Batemans Bay, where its distribution meets that of the southern O. pronus. Male O. leanus lack the horn of O. pronus.
