Lycoperdon subincarnatum (Ruddy Puffball)
Fruit Body:- 1-3cm Rounded puffball lacking a sterile base i.e. attached directly to the substrate via white myclial threads. Grey-lilac when young becoming brownish, outer surface covered in fine spines forming pyramidal warts that disappear with maturity.
Substrate:- Decomposing wood.
Relatively common. Easily distinguished by its rounded form, grey-purple colouring and lack of sterile base.
