Different behaviour today. They flew in from what is probably a feeding area and perched in a nearby tree. Quite vocal. They then flew to nest tree but not to the hollow. Still quite vocal. When I returned later they were quietly perched in a different tree. Were they trying to encourage chicks to appear or was the nest flooded in the weekend rain?
Thanks Richard I think at that location it is most likely Eucalyptus pauciflora subsp. debeuzevillei so yes a variety of snow gum. An interesting finding thanks
