I think is a Litoria chloris - Red-eyed Tree Frog photographed in Bangalee, north of Nowra. If so, it seems to be at its southern most distribution from ALA map. It's the first entry for this species in Budawang Coast Nature Map so worth recording. Was calling to a nearby mate when observed.

I think you're right Darren, it looks like a Red-eyed Tree Frog (Litoria chloris).
There's been several sightings of this species in and around Tapitallee, with your sighting being slightly further east, suggesting that the population may be expanding. This species natural range extends north of Gosford, so I reckon the original specimens were most probably translocated, being either escaped or released pets but more likely accidentally transported via fruit boxes or other cargo.

Thanks Darren and Gaia. I've added the species as a non-local native, because there seems to be a small population establishing itself in the area. It'll be interesting to keep a track of sightings of this species in the area, to see if the population is expanding.

The population occurs at North Nowra, Cambewarra, Budgong and over into Kangaroo Valley. I met a woman who kept Litoria xanthomera so this one may turn up as well. Few people recognise Litoria fallax as an non-local native now and I guess chloris will be the same in 20 years time.
