Disturbed by how often I see the hoof prints of deer in our national parks along tracks and on beaches and especially in wetland areas where their hard hooves pierce the soft ground. This was the first time I saw one & heard its alarm call. Don’t know what type of deer.
Apologies. I manually entered the location coordinates and must have mistyped the numbers. The location was in Yurammie Conservation Area on the western side track near the old gold mines.
Hi Ross, you may have noticed I entered images (1 August) of hoof prints and disturbed ground on our block at Black Range. Having found your observation here of a deer in Yurammie Conservation Area I am suspecting that this may be the animal that visited our property. Was this deer small, approx the size of a goat? If so it could be a female Fallow Deer. Andrew
It was a little larger than a goat but I couldn't get close enough to check before it ran off. It certainly wasn't one of the larger deer I've seen from a distance.
