This is very low for C.aurantia which belongs to a group of flora endemic to the subalps & main range not motane bogs. the flower head not being hemispherical plus the acute-tipped leaves make me think this is more likely a particularly dark c.variabilis. compare the the colour of the flower to Craspedia aurantia var. aurantia (Orange Billy Buttons) (true c.aurantia from the main range), & Craspedia sp. (Billy Buttons) (my third photo, which is again quite dark, but not c.aurantia).

Thanks Ciaran, I presume you are probably right given your expertise but it looked quite different from Ned's other sighting of variabilis nearby or any others I've seen for that matter and when I ran it through the key it came out better for aurantia for me though in hindsight it doesn't quite look right either, I am not 100% convinced on variabilis

I'm going to go with Craspedia species & remove the significance listing, I think its likely to be C.variabilis but it's difficult to be sure. Given that C.aurantia is locally rare I think it is wise to be cautious particularly as this would be close to the altitudinal limit for that taxa.
