User's notes

These magnificent birds usually make an appearance around this time of year locally, seen in larger flocks in the past, but this time, two pairs were seen on a recent local walk. A couple of the gum trees in the vicinity had lots of smaller branches and leaves on the ground which alerted the fact they were around and eating the gum nuts. Seen occasionally in my front yard munching on a Red-flowering Gum's nuts, quite a trimming of the top of the tree occurs as they feed.
