Lots of door creaking on arrival at the tree. Both M and F entered and then left hollow. Complete silence after they exited the hollow and remained perched on the tree.

Thanks John - pretty sure this is a tree I have investigated previously - maybe this year I will get lucky

I get excited every year Michael, but nothing seems to eventuate. This does look very promising but why are the adults out of the hollow for so long.

It is what is happening all over Canberra at the moment - the female is yet to lay eggs and they are protecting and preparing hollows. If my theory is right they should not use dead trees this year if it is dry and hot

Cheers Michael
