No idea what it is, google is no help. Landed on me in the middle of the night, and when I flicked it off it gave off a really bad smell, sort of like hospital chemicals but really harsh in the nose.

I think it might be a beetle. Longhorn. Maybe https://canberra.naturemapr.org/species/11597. Change it to beetle and see if one the beetle ID'ers can ID it. :)

@KylieWaldon Definately a longhorn. Not sure which one due to the lighting conditions. I'll leave it to those more expert. Sorry.

@KylieWaldon @AlisonMilton Thank you for your help, I have changed the category to longhorn to see if that helps! And apologies about the bad lighting and camera focus, it was taken at about 2 in the morning after it landed on my face and tried to crawl into my ear :)

It was only about 8-10mm long (just body, not including antennae), and 2-3mm wide. It was also a medium brown, like the colour of a brown paper bag if that’s any help to anyone :)

@ejsb @KylieWaldon Doesn't look quite right in colour but given the lighting conditions my first thought was Syllitus rectus, however this is more black than brown.
