User's notes

Very excited to be in the right place at the right time . . . Firstly, I heard, then saw, a pair of gang gangs fly overhead. They stopped, called, then flew a little back along the path from which they'd come. Another gang gang called, and the pair replied. One gang gang then flew into the big old tree in which the pair were perched. This was a female, a long way up. I trained my camera on her - and noticed her very white beak, and she began chucking and bobbing her head and body - begging! Mum came close to her, and fed her at least three times. The fledgling stayed on her solid branch, chewed a bit of bark, while her parents consumed some nuts (well, I heard the shells drop to the ground). I looked again at the fledgling, and she was intensely cleaning her feet (left foot, as far as I could tell). She cleaned the top, underneath, to the side. For me, this was confirmation I was looking at a very new fledgling - if not just fledged. After about half an hour, mum flew off - I assume towards the hollow, where I believe another fledgling waits to fledge. Well done, gang gangs!!
