Psednura pedestris (Psednura grasshopper)

This is one of two species of Psednura that have been recorded in the region. The other species - P. musgravei - is very similar in appearance. Both species can vary in colour, from all green, to a mix of green, brown and grey. The most reliable way to distinguish them is by the shape of the female ovipositor, but this can be difficult to see in a live animal. Therefore, most sightings will only be identifiable to the genus level.
