Senostoma punctipenne (Long-legged tachinid fly)

Long-legged fly 10mm body length. Prominent calypters. Subscutellum identifies this as a tachinid fly. Extends long proboscis to feed on nectar in Leptospermum flowers. Species identified from dark, thickened r-m vein in wing and other characters described in  Barraclough, David A (1992).
