Pycnoscelus surinamensis (Surinam Cockroach or Greenhouse Cockroach)

Possibly a native to South America, this burrowing cockroach has spread to tropical and subtropical areas around the world, and sometimes temperate areas where it is transported to greenhouses via potted plants or soil. 

A parthenogenic species, males are rarely found and when they are, they are non-reproductive. 

It does not usually cause problems in homes, but has been implicated in destroying plants, fruits and vegetables, and has been known to carry parasitic worms that infect poultry. 

It is almost indistinguishable from a species on Norfolk island Pycnoscelus indicus.
