Myrmecia aberrans species group (Wide jawed bullants)

The Myrmecia aberrans species group contains the species Myrmecia aberrans (recorded in SA) and Myrmecia froggatti (mainly in NSW but also recorded in QLD and SA) as well as several other poorly documented species including Myrmecia maura (NSW and ACT). Both M. aberrans and M. froggatti are known to have very small colonies estimated at around 20 - 40 individuals.
