Size: Grows 12 to 15cm.

 

Description: Lampreys are long, slender primitive jawless fishes with a cartilaginous skeleton, seven pairs of gill slits, a single median nostril and an oral sucking disc with a tongue-like structure bearing many sharp rasping teeth or denticles.

Location:Little is known about the habitat but appears to be restricted to freshwater areas. Known in the Morua and Tuross Rivers
