Order Embioptera; Family Oligotomidae (left cercus with normal, separate terminal segment, basal segment inwardly lobed, see Fig. 26.6C, Insects of Australia, CSIRO)
Aposthonia has 19 antennal segments, whereas Oligotoma, the other genus in this family has 11 segments. Aposthonia gurneyi (a species complex) is the only species in this genus found in NSW.
