Several patches of periwinkle; the photograph shows the largest patch; the brown colour indicates dead plants as a result of herbicide treatment.

Waltraud - do you know what the chemical treatment was on this patch, I have had great trouble trying to kill Vinca major, and have resorted to digging it out.

I sprayed with Starane as part of a trial to see what works best. I used Starane to spray StJW and hit a small patch of Vinca which I found dead when I monitored later.

I sprayed the lot plus a number of other sites in the reserve along / east of the backyards Mackenzie Street towards north. Unfortunately it grew back and I didn't had the capacity to follow-up which of course is absolutely necessary. I was interested to see for myself what works and wanted to provide a demo site (not that the land manager was interested at that time....). I did spray smaller Vinca patches in good grassy woodland further northeast and managed to follow up there a couple of times...
