I notice there are different species which show similar makings to E. proximella. None of the specimens posted to E. proximella on the ALA have this solid warm brown patch on the forewing, whereas about 20% of this species on Bold Systems 4 show a hint of this colouration, though none show a solid brown patch as distinct as it is in the specimen above. Perhaps the species is sexually dimorphic? My ID is tentative at this stage and subject to review.
