Here's another one: AFD have C. chryserythra, even though Turner's paper had the misprint Lepidotarsa chryscrythra, because the typesetter didn't know Greek.

Don, I'll take your word for it!

Several of turner's early work were misspelt which he corrected in a later paper but they have maintained the original misspelt name to this day. (holding the original published name)

My original statement appears incorrect as the AFD has now changed all but one.

A somewhat hasty and unexpected visit to Europe during the
printing of my former paper in the Transactions of the Royal
Society of South Australia, 1894, p. 120, prevented my reading
the proofs, and I must request those who refer to it to correct
the following printer's errors which have crept in :

For Grac. enmetella, Meyr., read Grac. eumetalla, Meyr.
For using the leaves, read mining the leaves.
For Grac. albospersa, n. sp., read Grac. albispersa, n. sp.
For Grac. albomaculella, n. sp., read Grac. albimaculella, n. sp.
For Grac. enchlamyda, n. sp., read Grac. euchlamyda, n. sp.
For Lepidotarsa chryscrytlira, n. sp., read Lepidotarsa chryserythra, n. sp.

From this list the printed Checklist of 1996 uses Turners original spelling except for Meyrick's eumetalla; in this case he misspelt a published name. The ADF (accessed 15/07/2023) has now changed all of Turner's new species to the amended name except enchlamyda.
In our case, I note that the AFD have changed the species name to Crepidosceles chryserythra (Turner, 1894) and also the original name to Lepidotarsa chryserythra but on the same page have titled the image as Crepidosceles chryscrythra

To change from the original printed name, which were accepted by the Checklist, 1996, (unless based on the sex of the genus) would there have to be case put to The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature?

Certainly not 'ÁDF' (ie Australian Defence Foreces') !
I think we should go with the current Crepidosceles chryserythra as suggested above. The AFD changed, they say, to this nomenclature in 2017. Prior sources can be trumped by later accepted revisions. In this case our current suggested name is consistent with Turner's published corrected intention for the specie's spelling.
