Polichne parvicauda (Short-tailed Polichne)

Widespread, wherever there are grassy habitats. There are two colour morphs in this species: green and brown. Members of this genus are characterised by their slender appearance, with narrow tegmina (front wings), and long lateral lobes on the pronotum.

David Rentz notes in his CSIRO field guide, that there are many undescribed species in this genus, and that the group is probably in need of review.
